  • What Happened at the Community Meeting?

    About 30 people joined our community meeting on 24 May to find out about the plans to reopen the Town Hall. Our Project Manager, Julian Mellor, gave a brief history of the building and the past work of the Trust after which Trustee Chris Perry explained the agile approach to bringing the Town Hall back into public use.   • Electrics Installed

    Another big milestone is reached – after National Grid gave us a power supply in March, this week we’re getting all the wiring installed. Here are Steve and Josh from Somerset Electrical & Property Services working on the installation. Once the electricity supply company installs the meter (end of the month we hope) we’ll be able to turn the lights back on. After 60 years of darkness that will be an incredible day! Read more…

    It Was a Dark and Stormy Night………….. But still the people of Wiveliscombe and it’s surrounds turned out to see the Town Hall Trust’s latest fundraiser ‘We are Bronte’. Wivey’s increasingly busy event calendar meant that the show needed to be held for 15 minutes to allow those watching the fireworks to move onto Kingsmead.   • WILDING THE HALL – 10PARISHES FESTIVAL

    Wilding the Hall was an installation by Jan Boddington (Blue Shed Flowers) & Liz Robertson (Walking with Blooms).   • THE BOARDS ARE OFF!

    The Town Hall, which has been closed for 68 years, has had its iconic arched windows revealed as the boards are stripped away and the Hall sees the light of day. This milestone moment marks the beginning of an exciting new phase in the planned renovation and rebirth of this treasured community space.
